§ 13-162. Registered agent; appointment; penalty for violation.

(a)

Every person, corporation, or business entity which is granted or holds a franchise issued by the parish and/or has a right-of-way permit issued by the parish shall, in order to maintain that privilege, appoint and maintain a registered agent for service of process within the parish.

(b)

Whoever fails to comply with this section shall be subject to termination of the franchise and right-of-way agreements. Also, whoever violates this section shall be subject to a penalty of $500.00 per violation, plus all costs and attorney's fees associated with additional expense of service and/or noticing these violators at any of its other registered agents for service of process.
