§ 15-26. Definitions.

  • The following words and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meaning respectfully ascribed to them in this section, to-wit:

    Agent shall mean any authorized agent or other person in control of immovable property situated in the rural or unincorporated portion of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, who is either renting, leasing, managing, occupying, overseeing or otherwise exercising custody or control of such property by rent, lease, power of attorney, mandate, procuration, contract and/or agreement, whether written or verbal, or with any other permission granted by the owner or owners of the property or by law.

    Crops shall mean a cultivated plant harvested for food, clothing, livestock, foder, biofuel, medicine or other uses.

    Grass shall mean herbage suitable for or used for lawns and/or the grazing animals.

    His shall apply to males, females and/or entities.

    Owner shall mean any one or more individuals and/or entities owning immovable property in the rural or unincorporated portions of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. The owner shall be determined by the latest available assessment rolls.

    Property shall mean any immovable property located in the rural or unincorporated portions of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, including railroad rights-of-way and property.

    Trash, rubbish, refuse, debris, discarded or noxious matter, materials and/or substances shall mean anything deemed to be useless and discarded including, but not limited to, food, waste, household garbage, appliances, furniture, carpeting, construction and roofing debris, immovable vehicles or vehicle parts, junk and/or any other unorganized waste materials.

    Weed shall mean a plant of no value or use.
