Chapter 16. OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS |
Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 16-6. Conducting seismic testing.
Any person desiring a permit to conduct seismic testing in the parish, whether by vibriosis, explosives or in any other manner, shall first file with the parish clerk a valid surety bond or certificate of insurance in the amount of $250,000.00. The bond or certificate of insurance shall be for the protection of the public at large in the parish from the negligence and/or other acts for which the person shall be held liable. The bond or insurance shall be exclusively for the indemnification of damage occurring in the parish, and/or provide a minimum of $250,000.00 of coverage for damages occurring in the parish. For the purposes of this section a firm specifically includes but is not limited to a corporation as defined under state law. The parish president, or such person as he may designate, shall issue a permit for seismic testing upon receipt of notification of the bond being filed with the parish clerk.
