Chapter 16. OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS |
Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 16-7. Glass containers prohibited on beaches, banks, waterways.
(a)
For the purposes of this section the following definitions shall apply.
(1)
A glass container is any drinking vessel or beverage bottle or beverage container made of glass.
(2)
The beach or bank adjoining the waterway is defined as the area from the water's edge to the normal high water mark.
(b)
It shall be unlawful for any person to carry, possess or drink from any glass container, whether open or not, while in or on any river, stream or bayou of the parish or upon the beach or bank adjoining such waterways.
(c)
Whoever violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished as provided in section 1-13 of this Code, and shall perform at least three days of community service.
