§ 19-823. Appointment of board; powers.

The board of commissioners shall be appointed by the governing authority of Tangipahoa Parish by the following method:

(1)

One member nominated by the parish governing authority.

(2)

One member nominated by the T.P. Sheriff's Office.

(3)

One member nominated by the parish hospitals.

(4)

One member nominated by the municipal law enforcement agencies.

(5)

One member nominated by the Rural Fire Protection District.

(6)

One member nominated by the City Fire Protection District.

(7)

One member nominated by the ambulance service.

The nominees must be qualified electors of the parish whose term shall be per LAS R.S. 33:9103.

The powers of the commissioners shall be per LSA R.S. 33:9103.
