Article IV. ADOPT A PARISH ROAD PROGRAM |
§ 20-92. Responsibilities of adopting organizations.
The adopting organization must adopt at least two miles, both sides, of parish maintained hard surface roadway for the sole purpose of controlling litter along that section of roadway. Included in the responsibilities of any business or civic organization which chooses to participate in the program shall be the following:

The business or civic organization accepts this responsibility for a two-year period, with the contract renewing automatically each two years. If the organization wishes to cancel the contract, notification must be made in writing to the parish council. Should the organization fail to follow through on the adopting commitment, the parish council reserves the right to cancel the contract after two years.
(2)
A general cleanup of the area must take place at least twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
(3)
The parish council must be notified of planned times for cleanup activities at least two weeks in advance.
