§ 23-54. Permits.

  • (a)

    No natural person, corporation, association, partnership, receiver, tutor, curator, executor, administrator, fiduciary or representative of any kind shall commence to drill or construct a well having a capacity of 250,000 gallons per day or 250 gallons per minute, whichever is less, within the parish, which is for the principal purpose of producing ground water, without first obtaining a permit from the parish.

    (b)

    The application for the permit shall be on a form prepared by the parish permit office as approved by the parish council. The application shall be kept on file with the parish permit office with a duplicate copy to be kept on file with the clerk of the parish council. The permit office shall within two working days forward copies of the application to the parish engineer for review and the clerk of the parish council for filing and scheduling of a public hearing as hereinafter set forth.
