§ 2-56. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Adjudication means the process for the formation of a decision or order by the parish council.
Decision or order means the whole or any part of the final disposition (whether affirmative, negative, injunctive or declaratory in form) of the parish council in any matter required by law to be determined on the record after notice and opportunity for a hearing and including all parish licensing, when the grant, denial, revocation or renewal of a license is required by law to be preceded by notice and an opportunity for hearing and including the removal of any parish governmental appointee for cause.
Ordinance means a rule, law or statute established by the parish council.
Parish appointee means a person who is appointed by the parish council for a particular purpose, whether pursuant to the provisions of the Louisiana Revised Statutes or otherwise, specifically including but not limited to the members of the various water districts' boards, the sewerage district's board, the fire districts' boards, the library board and the recreational districts' boards.
Party means each person or agency named or admitted as a party or properly seeking and entitled as of right to be admitted as a party.
Person means any individual, partnership, corporation, association, governmental subdivision or public or private organization of any charter other than an agency.
