§ 7-150. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Animal means any of a kingdom of living beings typically differing from plants in the capacity for spontaneous movement and the rapid motor response to stimulation, except for human beings, but specifically including but not limited to cats, dogs, hogs, swine, horses, mules, donkeys, asses, cattle, sheep, goats, domesticated deer, buffalo, bison, beefalo, fowl, chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, turkeys, ostrich, emu, birds, primates, monkeys, apes, foxes, wolves, coyotes, tigers, lions, snakes, reptiles or any mixture thereof.

    Owner of animal means any person owning or having the care and/or control of an animal.
