§ 8-11. Permits required for subcontractors.

Latest version.
  • (a)

A permit, which shall be in addition to the building permit, shall be obtained for any new construction work that a subcontractor performs before any work is started.

    (b)

No permit shall be required for repairs to existing systems; however, all such repair work shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of this part.

    (c)

All applications shall be made on forms supplied by the permit office and shall contain all information requested thereon.

    (d)

A permit shall not be issued to anyone other than persons designated by the owner or owners of a firm.

    (e)

A permit issued shall be construed to be only a license to proceed with the work and shall not be interpreted as authority to violate, cancel, alter or set aside any of the provisions of this code, nor shall such issuance of a permit prevent the building official from thereafter requiring a correction of errors in plans or construction or of violations of this code. Any permit issued shall become invalid if work is terminated for a period of one year.
