§ 23-58. Suspension of permit.

  • The parish council upon recommendation of the parish engineer may suspend the permit for the well at issue pursuant to this article and suspend production from the well in the event that the sustainability of the aquifer producing the ground water from said well is not maintained under current or projected usage or under normal environmental conditions which are causing a serious adverse impact to said aquifer. A suspension of the permit limiting or terminating production from the well shall be issued only after 60 days notice and a hearing before the parish council. Notice of intent to suspend a permit shall be sent by registered mail to the permittee and the user and well owner at the addresses provided in the permits.
