§ 18-73. Disposal liability.

(a)

Any individual, contractor, sub-contractor, corporation, partnership or other entity that engages in installing or removing roofing material within the unincorporated areas of Tangipahoa Parish shall be liable for the illegal and unlawful transporting and disposal of said material.

(b)

Any individual contractor, sub-contractor, corporation, partnership or other entity that engages in the installation or removal of roofing material that also engages in unlawful transporting and illegal disposal of roofing material within the unincorporated areas of Tangipahoa Parish shall be subject to criminal fines and penalties as stated in this chapter.

(c)

Any individual or business that retains a licensed contractor, sub-contractor, corporation, partnership or other entity for the sole purpose of removing, installing or transporting roofing material within the unincorporated areas of Tangipahoa Parish shall not be liable for lawful transporting and disposal of said material but, the retained licensed contractor, sub-contractor, corporation, partnership or other entity shall be liable for the unlawful transporting and disposal of said roofing material.
