§ 22-57. Weight limitations on bridges.
(a)
No motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, tandem semitrailer, light truck, trailer, bulldozer tractor or any other vehicle shall cross or use any bridge in the parish road system being a part of parish roads of the parish, with a gross weight on any axle exceeding ten tons.
(b)
In this section, an axle load means the total load on all wheels or trucks whose centers are included within two parallel transverse vertical planes not more than 40 inches apart.
(c)
The president shall place signs which may be easily read from the road stating the gross limit on all of the bridges.
(d)
No person shall deface, mar, destroy or remove such signs.
