§ 27-3. Mineral well registration required.

  • (a)

    Prior to the spudding (very beginning of drilling) of a mineral well the entity permitted to drill such well in or under Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, on or after the effective date of this chapter shall register their well with Tangipahoa Parish Permit Office.

    (b)

    To register a well as required by this section, the registrant shall submit, through certified mail the application for their state drilling permit and a copy of the permit once obtained. Included in the application and permit will be the well name and API number to aid the Tangipahoa Parish Council and its citizens in accessing hydrofracturing fluid disclosure from fracfocus.org. The parish permit office at registration will be required to access the above web site and attach the chemical list to the mineral wellhead registration.

    (c)

    One registration shall be required for each well drilled at an individual well site. The registration shall expire upon completion of drilling operations or one year from date of issuance, whichever is first.

    (d)

    Any subcontracting vehicle operator shall at all times know and be able to provide the registration holder's state permit number under which it is operating.

    (e)

    All ordinance requirements will be specified effective to the date of the ordinance as signed by the parish president.
